Dr Musawenkosi Ncube

Musawenkosi Ncube is a Project Manager at Wits VIDA, where he leads the Paediatrics and Neonatal Surveillance (PNS) team. His work focuses on invasive bacterial and viral pathogens—including Klebsiella pneumoniae, Acinetobacter baumannii, Group B Streptococcus, RSV, and SARS-CoV-2—with the aim of reducing child morbidity and mortality in resource-limited settings. A Clinical Pharmacologist, he holds an MSc in Clinical Pharmacology from the University of Pretoria. His research interests include antimicrobial resistance, rational prescribing, and pharmacotherapy in vulnerable populations. Mr Ncube has supported COVID-19 vaccine studies in South Africa and Eswatini, led community engagement efforts, and held previous roles at Steve Biko Academic Hospital and Adcock Ingram.
