About

Dr Monare Thulo is a Medical Doctor and Researcher at Wits VIDA, serving as Project Manager and Postdoctoral Researcher for the adult antimicrobial resistance surveillance project. His work focuses on ESKAPE pathogens and the cellular mechanisms driving drug tolerance and resistance. He holds an MBBCh and a PhD in Medical Biochemistry and Structural Biology from the University of the Witwatersrand, where he studied the structural dynamics of FOXP1 and FOXP2 using advanced biophysical methods. Dr Thulo previously worked as an Intern Medical Officer at Sebokeng Hospital and held research roles at the Wits Protein Structure-Function Research Unit and Buboo Bioinnovations. His current work contributes to the development of new therapeutic strategies and a deeper understanding of clonal evolution and single-cell biology.
